Who We Are
The Australia Korea Young Professionals Association is a non-profit organisation that exists to strengthen the bilateral partnership between Australia and the Republic of Korea.
AKYPA promotes trade and networking opportunities by connecting future leaders in business through high-calibre events and forums. South Korea is one of Australia’s largest trading partners, and the Korea–Australia Free Trade Agreement (KAFTA), signed 14 December 2014, has further strengthened the economic and geopolitically strategic relationship between the two countries.
We provide a platform for knowledge sharing and professional development — connecting young professionals to a broader network of commercial and business opportunities, and facilitating the cultural understanding critical to engaging successfully in the marketplace.
Sponsored by the Victorian Government, AKYPA is also a connection hub for recipients of Korea-related government programs, including the New Colombo Plan and the Hamer Scholarship.
What We Do
Every AKYPA activity is designed to move members closer to the people, institutions and insight that make the Australia–Korea corridor work.
Boardroom briefings, leadership forums and fireside chats with business and government leaders from both countries — the conversations that don’t happen on a public stage.
Professional networking and community events across Australia and Korea, from Seollal evenings to trade delegations — built on repeat attendance, not headcount.
Policy development and industry engagement on the bilateral relationship, giving members a genuine voice in how the partnership evolves.
Membership
AKYPA is a member-based organisation for young professionals aged 23+ with a commercial or general interest in the Australia–Korea relationship. Membership is free of charge and open to anyone actively involved or interested — from any background or industry.
Several events a year with distinguished guests and keynote speakers, plus the members-only KakaoTalk group chat.
Industry leaders and government officials, handpicked to create real value for members rather than a longer contact list.
Private networking with key guests and speakers at AKYPA’s top-tier events, ahead of general release.
Access to publications and links that support your trade, investment and career goals across both markets.
